Oppo Find 5 Specs – World’s most powerful smartphone

Move over Galaxy Note 2, there’s a new big boy in town! Oppo, a manufacturer usually known for making home theater systems has revealed its flagship device, the Oppo Find 5. Known for making pretty good Blu Ray players, Oppo is a Chinese company that rose to prominence with the launch of the Oppo Finder, a 4.3 inch Android smartphone which was special because it was and remains the thinnest smartphone in the world. Yes, that’s right, Apple’s claim of the iPhone 5 being the thinnest smartphone isn’t true. The iPhone 5 is 7.6mm thin, and the Oppo Finder is just 6.65mm. It get’s even better, the latest beast to come out of the Oppo stables is in fact the thinnest, most powerful smartphone you can get, read on for more!

Oppo Find 5

The Oppo Find 5 is the world’s first phone with a 1080P display. Even though it packs in a 5 inch screen which technically makes it a “phablet”, it has a jaw dropping pixel density of 441 ppi, far more than any device on the market, period. While other smartphones are content with packing in 720P screens, Oppo has gone and put in a even higher resolution screen. That’s basically the resolution of all HDTVs (even 40 inches and above) in a 5 inch screen! That’s not all, there’s a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC, 2 GB of RAM and a huge 2500 mAh battery too. The camera is a 12 MP one, and the Oppo Find 5 will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The best part? All of this is packed in a frame no thicker than 6.65mm! It’s quite a feat, the only concern we have is with the battery life. Even though 2500 mAh is quite a powerful battery, will it be enough for the humongous screen and fast processor? We have yet to see it, but the specs are already making us drool, check them out!

SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064CPU: 1.5-1.7 GHz quad-core Krait (Clock speed not revealed)GPU: Adreno 320RAM: 2 GB RAMStorage: 16 GB (or) 32 GB (0r) 64 GB (Variants and expandable memory support not revealed)Camera: 12 MP rear facing, front camera specs not revealedBattery: 2500 mAhThickness: 6.65mmOS: Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Those are some really great specs, but will the quality match up to other high end smartphones? We’ll have to wait and watch. As of now no pricing or release details have been announced either. Meanwhile do drop us a line telling us what you think of the Oppo Find 5!

LG Optimus G Launched – World’s first quad-core LTE smartphone!

4G LTE is the network standard of the future. It promises over 100 Mbps transfer speeds, but the downside is that not all smartphones support it. To be more precise, most new smartphones comes in different versions for LTE enabled countries and non LTE enabled countries. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S3 that is sold in North America comes with a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait and 2 GB RAM instead and the one sold in countries like India comes with the quad-core 1.4 GHz Exynos and 1 GB RAM. This difference is because the SoC’s that contained quad-core processors didn’t have LTE connectivity. Only recently SoC’s are coming out that support LTE connectivity and house quad-core processors. No more though, the LG Optimus G has been launched and is the world’s first quad-core LTE smartphone!

The LG Optimus G has still more tricks up its sleeve though. In addition to the being quite literally the most powerful smartphone as of now, LG claims it has the best smartphone camera, best multi-tasking and the most vibrant screen of all smartphones. Those sure are tall claims, but with all that power packed in it’s sure to be a beast. Here’s the specs of the LG Optimus G.

LG Optimus G

SoC: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064CPU: Quad-Core 1.5 GHz KraitGPU: Adreno 320Screen: 4.7 inch True HD IPS LCD screen, 768 x 1280 px (318 ppi)RAM: 2 GB RAMStorage: 32 GB, non expandableCamera: 13MP rear facing camera (1080P video recording) and 1.3MP front facing camera (720P video recording)Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFCBattery: 2100 mAhOS: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

Yep, it sure is a powerful smartphone. The only catch is, it’s going to ship with Ice Cream Sandwich instead of Jelly Bean. Although an upgrade is inevitable, with LG’s track record we’re not sure it will come soon. LG claims that even with these specs it will last for long, and offer upto 12 hours of talktime. Apparently there’s some new battery tech being used in the LG Optimus G that helps in efficiency. LG is really banking on multi-tasking here, and claims that the LG Optimus G won’t slow down even during heavy usage. All of this is packed in a very thin 8.4mm body, which is really quite impressive. So what do you think? Is this the phone that gets LG into the big league? Drop us a comment with your views!
