VIT University 2013 B.Tech NRI / Foreign (International) Admissions and Selection Procedure

VIT University 2013 B.Tech NRI / Foreign Admissions and Selection Procedure Vellore Institute of Technology B.Tech NRI / Foreign Admission Notification 2013 – 2014  is out for this Academic year. All NRI / Foreign Students who applied for VIT 2013 Admissions for B.Tech Engineering Programs in Vellore Institute of Technology are hereby Informed that the VIT University has Published VIT 2013 Admissions and Selection Procedure for NRI / Foreign Students. 

VIT 2013 Admissions are based on Merit (marks/grades obtained in the Qualifying Examination) and availability of Vacant seats in Vellore Institute of Technology.

NRI / Foreign Students who aspires for admission in VIT University B.Tech Courses are hereby informed to follow the VIT 2013 Selection Procedure. 

 Step 1 

The NRI / Foreign Applicant is requested to apply through online with the necessary documents as mentioned in step 3.Apply online for VIT NRI / Foreign Admissions at https://academics.vit.ac.in/online_application/btechnri2013/home.asp . VIT Online Application link will be available  from the first week of December 2012.An application number will be allotted to the candidate on filling up of the VIT 2012 Online Application Form.Candidates are requested to Save the VIT 2013 Application number for any future correspondence.

 Step 2 

The NRI / Foreign candidate should give 2 options as per the order of preference while filling up of the  VIT 2013 Application form. Incomplete Application form will not be considered for VIT NRI / Foreign Admissions 2013.Fill up the VIT NRI / Foreign Application form 2013 . If the final marks / results are available, then attach the copy of the results of Qualifying Exam. The passed out candidate should satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned earlier. If the marks/ grades are awaited, kindly indicate ‘Results awaited in the column prescribed and mention the expected date of result. Students who will be appearing for the GCE ‘A’ Levels and IB examinations and who will be getting results  in June 2013 will have to enclose forecast / predicted results certified by the school. All other candidates are expected to send their final results to the University as soon as it is available to ascertain their eligibility. It is to be noted that the application will be considered only if the marks / grades are made available to the University within the stipulated time.

Step 3 

The candidate is requested to send the hard copies of the filled-out VIT 2013 application form along with the necessary documents mentioned below by post to the Address of “Director – UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore – 632014, Tamil Nadu”.Candidates are required to apply to VIT University with the following documents along with the print out copy of the duly filled-out VIT 2013 online application form. VIT 2013 Online Application form available in VIT website http://www.vit.ac.in/btechnri2013/Copy of X Mark StatementAny age proof certificateCopy of XI Mark Sheet/ Grades of the qualifying Examination.Copy of XII Mark statement or Equivalent degree Examination marks (if available)Copy of Transfer (or) School leaving certificate (or) Migration Certificate (if available)In case, the candidates are awarded with Grades and not with marks, it is the responsibility of the candidate to produce equivalent marks for the grades secured from the concerned Institution / BoardCertificates issued by the employer, with full details of the designation of the parents Employer’s CertificateValid Passport and Visa Copies of the candidate and the parentCopy of citizenship card ( for Nepal & Bhutan students)Sponsorship letter Sponsorship LetterTwo passport size photographs

NOTE : Do not enclose any Demand Draft. 

Step 4  

All the above documents [in photo copies] are to be sent along with the covering letter to the “Director – UG Admission”, VIT University, Vellore – 632 014, Tamil Nadu, within stipulated time.On selection, the originals of the above mentioned certificates must be submitted to the Admissions office.The last date for applying through online [receipt of hard copy] is 7th March 2013.After the deadline of the application i.e., 7th March 2013, the VIT NRI / Foreign Admissions 2013 Final seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit in the order of preference / availability of the seats. 

 Step 5 

Scrutinizing documents received from the candidates.Allotment will be based on the marks secured in standard X and standard XI. Therefore, it is mandatory to send the X and XI mark statement along with the application form and other relevant documents, for the selection process.

 Step 6 

VIT 2013 NRI / Foreign Category Branch Allotment / Offer Letter ; On satisfying all the eligibility requirements, the VIT 2013 NRI / Foreign Students branch allotment order / offer letter will be e-mailed to the candidate in the second week of March 2013. (candidates are requested to give valid email address)The VIT 2013 branch allotment order will be issued, only if the student meet the eligibility requirements.Allotment of branch for VIT 2013 NRI / Foreign Category Students will be done on the basis of the application received at our end.Branch once allotted will not be changed under any circumstances.

 Step 7

Selected candidates on receipt of the branch allotment order are required to pay the Advance Tuition fee of 1,000 USD [non-refundable deposit] drawn in favour of ‘VIT University’ on or before 10th April 2013.The advance tuition fee of 1,000 USD should accompany with the declaration form [will be issued by the office along with the allotment order]. Step 8 
Issue of VIT 2013 Provisional Admission letter A letter of provisional admission will be issued on receipt of the Advance fee as mentioned in the branch allotment letter.On receipt of the provisional Admission letter, the candidate is requested to pay the balance Tuition fee on or before10th June 2013 along with the copy of the XII mark statement / website copy [if available ].The balance fee payment should accompany with the Details of Fee format [will be issued by the office along with the provisional admission letter]

 Step 9 
Payment of Hostel Fees

The Hostel fee should be paid separately with the balance tuition fee. [ by means of separate DD drawn in favour ofVIT University]Allotment of room will be done on first cum first served basis.Refer the Hostel fee structure in our VIT website

 Step 10 

On receipt of the balance fee, the details regarding the commencement of the programme, route to VIT, Hotel details, academic calendar, affidavit pdf format, student profile to be filled through online etc., will be intimated through email.Candidates are requested to report to the University with the required original documents as per the intimation given in the mail.Only on completion of admission formalities the candidate will be allowed to stay in the hostel.All the NRI / Foreign students are requested to register in International Relations office (IR office) on the day of admission.

 Important Instructions to the candidates

The candidates should full fill the academic eligibility criteria for confirming the admission.After admission, while scrutinizing the records if a candidate is found not eligible, the admission will stand cancelled at the discretion of the Management.In case of student found not eligible [If is not satisfying the eligibility criteria], the refund will be given in the name of the candidate.International students are expected to abide by the rules of the University. Eligible aspirants for bank jobs at the entry level in Public Sector Banks are invited to participate in the process.With the validity of the scorecard issued for the first CWE for Clerks held in November/ December 2011 expiring in February 2013, the next Common Written Examination (CWE Clerk-II) as a pre-requisite for selection of personnel for Clerical cadre posts in the Public Sector Banks will be conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) tentatively in December 2012.Any eligible candidate, who aspires to join any of the Public Sector Banks listed below as a Clerk or in a similar post in that cadre, is required to clear the Common Written Examination (CWE). Candidates who qualify in CWE Clerk-II, will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be co-ordinated by IBPS. Candidates, successful in qualifying in both the CWE and Common Interview will be listed in the order of merit. Depending on the vacancies in each bank of his preference, candidate will receive through a computerised system an offer from one of the Participating Public Sector Banks listed below. Vacancies remaining unfilled on account of candidates declining offer, will be filled from among the remaining candidates, through subsequent iterations.This system of Common Written Examination and common interview for recruitment of Clerical Cadre in Participating PSBs has the approval of the appropriate authorities.Candidates intending to appear for CWE will have to apply to IBPS after carefully reading the advertisement regarding the process of examination and interview, eligibility criteria, online registration process, payment of prescribed application fee/ intimation charges, pattern of examination, issuance of call letters etc.After the declaration of result of both CWE and common interview, a notification will be issued by IBPS giving the state/UT wise and category-wise vacancies for each Bank and order of preference for Banks will be obtained from successful candidates. Based on the marks obtained in CWE and common interview as well as the indication of order of preference of Banks and available vacancies, a successful candidate will receive a call from an individual Bank.
Since recruitment in clerical cadre in Public Sector Banks is done on State/UT-wise basis, candidates can apply for vacancies in any one State/ UT only. Consequently, a candidate would be required to appear for CWE in any one of the centres in that particular State/UT. However, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility etc. candidates may be allotted to a centre of examination outside the chosen State/UT for which vacancies he/she is applying. Please note this reallocation is only for the conduct of examination and the candidate will be considered for vacancies in the State/UT applied for, as aforesaid.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates, intending to appear for CWE should ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria specified by IBPS before applying for the Common Written Examination (CWE):
Please note that the eligibility criteria specified herein are the basic criteria for applying for the Post. However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for and qualifying in the examination and/or in the subsequent interview does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in any of the Participating Public Sector Banks.
Age (As on 01.10.2012):
Minimum: 20 Years  Maximum: 28 Years
The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (as on 01.10.2012)
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Computer literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.
Ex-Servicemen who do not possess the above civil examination qualifications should be matriculate Ex-Servicemen who have obtained the Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or Air Force after having completed not less than 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union.
Note:  (i) All educational qualifications should be from a recognised university/ Board.
(ii) The percentage of marks shall be arrived at by dividing the aggregate/total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects irrespective of optional/additional subjects studied with the aggregate maximum marks of the examination passed for all the years of the examination.
(iii) The date of passing the examination which reckons for eligibility will be the date appearing on the Mark Sheet or Provisional Certificate

The candidates’ scores will be made available on IBPS website and candidates may view the same.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 15.10.2012 to 05.11.2012 and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should–
(i) scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications as given in Annexure II to this Advertisement.
(ii) Keep the necessary details/documents ready if desired to make online payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges (In case of Offline Payment i.e. CBS candidates have to apply online, obtain a fee payment challan and then remit the necessary application fees/ intimation charges).
(iii) have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results of this round of CWE. IBPS may send call letters Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.
Application Fees/ Intimation Charges (Payable from 15.10.2012 to 05.11.2012 (Online payment) and 17.10.2012 to 09.11.2012 (Offline payment) both dates inclusive)
-    Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.
-    Rs. 400 /- for all others
Bank Transaction charges for Offline/ Online Payment of fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate
Procedure for applying online
(1)         Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link “Common Written Examination” and then click on the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- Clerks (IBPS-CWE-Clerk-II) December 2012” to open the On-Line Application Form.
(2)         Candidates will have to enter their basic details and upload the photograph and signature in the online application form. Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature (Annexure II).
Mode of Payment
Candidates have the option of making the payment of requisite fees/ intimation charges either through the ONLINE mode or the OFFLINE mode:
(1) Payment of fees/ intimation charges via the ONLINE MODE
(i) Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing the “SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
(ii) The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
(iii)    The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet
Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. (iv)    In case candidates wish to pay fees/ intimation charges through the online payment
gateway after the upload of photograph and signature an additional page of the
application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in
the requisite details. (v)     If the online transaction has been successfully completed a Registration Number and
Password will be generated. Candidates should note their Registration Number and
Password for future reference. (vi)    If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then the following message
is  displayed  ‘Your  online  transaction  was  unsuccessful.  Please  register  again’
Candidates may then revisit the ‘Apply Online’ link and fill in their application details
again. (vii)   On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated. (viii) Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt. Note:
o After submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait
for the intimation from the server, DO NOT press Back or Refresh button in order to
avoid double charge o For Credit Card users: All prices are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian
credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange
rates. o To ensure the security of your data, please close the browser window once your
transaction is completed.
(2)  Payment of fees/ intimation charges via OFFLINE MODE (at counters of specified Bank branches):
Payment of fee/ intimation charges through the offline mode can be made through the CBS branches of any one of the following 7 Public Sector Banks-Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the “SUBMIT” button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing the “SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Registration Number and Password. An Email & sms indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
In case the candidate is unable to fill in the application form in one go, he/ she can save the data already entered. When the data is saved, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the Provisional registration number and password. An Email & sms
indicating the Provisional Registration number and Password will also be sent. They can reopen the saved data using Provisional registration number and password and edit the particulars, if needed. This facility will be available for three times only. Once the application is filled in completely, candidate should submit the data. Candidates should take a printout of the system generated fee payment challan immediately. No change/edit will be allowed after submission.
The registration at this stage is provisional.
Fee Payment: Fee payment will be accepted at the CBS branches of the banks listed above from 2nd working day after registration and can be made within three working days. System generated fee payment challan will be used for depositing fee. (For example: If one has registered on 20.10.2012, then he/she will be able to deposit the fee from 23.10.2012 to 27.10.2012, considering 21.10.2012 is a non- working day). Once fee has been paid, the registration process is completed.
Candidate will receive registration confirmation by SMS/e-mail after two working days from the date of payment of fees/ intimation charges. Please ensure to furnish correct Mobile number / e-mail address to receive the registration confirmation.
    CALL LETTERS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION
The date and time of Examination (tentatively in December 2012/ January 2013) shall be intimated in the Call Letter along with the Centre/Venue address. An eligible candidate should download his/her call letter from the IBPS’s website www.ibps.in by entering his / her details i.e. Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth, after 03.12.2012. The Information Handout will also be available on IBPS website and a candidate may download the same. No hard copy of the call letter/ Information Handout will be sent by post/ courier.
A candidate has to bring his/her Examination call letter along with his/her photo identity proof in original as well as a photocopy while attending the examination and will have to submit the Examination call letter and photocopy of photo-identity proof in the examination hall.

Rajasthan General Awareness- 25 Questions with 5 options Technical Question-100 Questions with 5 options

There shall be No Negative Marking

Minimum Passing Marks-

Minimum passing marks for male candidates of UR category shall be 35% marks. For the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/BC/SBC (Non creamy-layer)/PH and for all female candidates, it will be 25% marks.

Selection Procedure-There shall be no interview. A General Merit list of all the successful candidates, for each discipline i.e. Electrical, Mechanical, Control & Instrumentation/PLCC, Civil & Fire Fighting shall be prepared separately on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in written competitive examination. Thereafter, category-wise merit lists shall be prepared. However, in case two or more candidates acquire same merit position, then their date of birth shall be deciding factor to determine their merit, i.e. the elder candidate shall be placed higher in the merit-list.
