BARC Trainee Recruitment 2012 Notification Eligibility FormsBARC has issued Recruitment Notification 2012 for two categories of stipendiary trainee: Category-1 & Category-2. Category-1 Trainee is meant for Diploma/B. Sc. qualifications while Category-2 Trainee is meant for ITI/Class-XII qualifications. There are 139 trainee vacancies of Category-1 (last date for application:18/12/2012)  & 46 trainee vacancies of Category-2 (last date for application:01.01.2013).This blog post tries to sum up above BARC notification. BARC was founded in 1954 as Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET). After the death of its illustrious pioneer Homi J. Bhabha's in 1966, the centre was renamed as the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.BARC is the primary nuclear research centre of India and its scope of research extends diverse fields like nuclear reactor design and installation, fuel fabrication, chemical processing of depleted fuel.
BARC Trainee Vacancies 2012-2013:BARC Trainee Vacancies 2012-2013There are a total of 139 Category-I trainee vacancies with discipline-wise, category-wise break-up as given at left: As you can see. there are 84 engineering vacancies & 55 science vacancies. After the two years training period, Category-I trainees are absorbed as Scientific Assistant (C).

Also, there are a total of 46 Category-II trainee vacancies with category-wise break-up as below:

SC - 02, ST - 05, OBC - 09, UR – 30.

The Category-2 trainee vacancies are for following disciplines:
Chemical Plant Operator, Fitter, Electrical, Electronics.

After the two years training period, Category-II trainees are absorbed as Technician(B/C). During the 2-year training period, BARC offers the trainee following consolidated monthly stipend:
Stipend for Category-I trainee: Rs. 9300/- per month for the 1st year and Rs.10500/- for the 2nd year
Stipend for Category-II trainee:  Rs.6200/=p.m. in the 1st year and Rs.7200/- p.m in the 2nd year. BARC Category-I Trainee Eligibility:Min: 19 yrs, Max: 24 yrs. as on 18/12/2012. Age relaxations exists as per Govt. rule.Educational Qualification Eligibility:For engineering disciplines: Diploma / Licentiate in respective engineering disciplines (3 years after SSC or 2 years after HSC/B.Sc.) with minimum of 60% marks in Diploma.
For Physics& Chemistry disciplines: Minimum 60% marks in B.Sc.(principal subject: Physics & Chemistry and  Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Biology as subsidiary subjects)
For Computer Science disciplines: Minimum 60% marks in B.Sc (Computer Science).

For the Science disciplines, Maths at HSC (10+2) level is essential.

BARC Category-II Trainee Eligibility:Min: 18 yrs, Max: 22 yrs. as on 01/01/2013. Age relaxations exists as per Govt. rule.Educational Qualification Eligibility:HSC (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects)/SSC with a minimum of 60% of marks in aggregate PLUS ITI certificate in Chemical Plant Operation / Fitter / Electrical / Electronics. The ITI/NCTVT qualification should be either of the following :-
1. ITI/NCTVT of 2 years duration OR
2. ITI of one year duration plus one year relevant experience after completion of the course.

Candidates who have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics can also apply for the post of Chemical Plant Operator. Candidates applying for Cat-II - Fitter may also be considered for Chemical Plant Operator.

BARC Stipendiary Trainee Selection process:

The selection process for BARC Stipendiary Trainee consists of a written test followed by Interview. The written exam (to be conducted at Mysore) consist of a an 1-hour Objective type paper. The written test mark is for screening purpose only and the marks of Interview would only be counted for final selection.

BARC written exam for Category-I Trainee will be conducted at Mumbai and the syllabus for the BARC trainee exam will be based on subjects at Diploma/B.Sc. level as the case may be.

While the BARC written exam for Category-II Trainee will be conducted at Mysore and the syllabus for the  exam will be based on subjects at SSC/HSC/ITI level.
